The application deadline was 28 August 2026.
FLS is recruiting learners for an Occupational Certificate in Business Administration, giving successful candidates the chance to combine formal learning with practical workplace exposure in an international engineering and mining-services business. The programme is based around business administration but is designed to expose learners to several functions rather than keeping them in one narrow clerical area. Participants may gain experience in commercial operations, finance, field services, general operations and other administrative departments while completing the curriculum required by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations. This is an entry-level learnership for Matric applicants who meet the Mathematics and English requirements and are within the advertised age limit. It is especially relevant for young candidates who want to develop office, coordination, communication and numerical skills while working toward a recognised occupational qualification.
Programme Details
- Programme: Business Administration Learner
- Location: Delmas, Gauteng listing / FLS South Africa placements
- Qualification: Occupational Certificate in Business Administration
- Closing date: 28 August 2026
Minimum Requirements
Applicants need Grade 12 with Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy, and English. Both subjects should have a minimum Level 3 pass of 40% or higher. Candidates must not be older than 26 years of age.
Applicants should be able to speak, read and write English and need basic numerical ability. Copies of qualifications and the applicant’s ID should be included with the CV when applying.
What Learners Will Do
The learnership combines classroom or structured occupational learning with workplace exposure. Successful learners can be placed across administrative areas such as commercial, finance, operations and field services, depending on business requirements and the training structure.
This variety is useful because business administration involves more than filing or basic office work. Learners can develop an understanding of how information, documentation, customer and supplier processes, internal coordination and administrative support connect different parts of a business.
Skills That Matter
Communication and numerical ability are important entry requirements. Learners should also be organised, willing to follow procedures and comfortable working with different teams. Attention to detail is valuable when handling business records or routine financial and operational information.
Because FLS operates internationally and serves technical industries, learners may work alongside people from different professional and cultural backgrounds. A willingness to learn and adapt will therefore be useful throughout the programme.
What You Will Gain
The programme works toward a recognised Occupational Certificate in Business Administration and includes practical training in real workplace departments. This gives participants a combination of formal learning and experience that can support future applications for administrative, operations-support, commercial or junior finance-related roles.
