The application deadline was 20 September 2026.
Amazon has several 12-month internship opportunities open in Cape Town for students and recent graduates who want practical experience inside a large international technology and e-commerce business. The current South African internship intake includes Financial Analyst, Program/Product Manager and Account Manager pathways. Although the functions are different, the core eligibility is similar: applicants should be completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a graduation date in the first quarter of 2027, or be a recent 2026 graduate within the stated six-month window, and must be available for a full-time 12-month internship. These programmes are designed to give interns ownership of real work, mentorship and exposure to teams operating across Amazon’s commercial and operational businesses. Successful interns may also be considered for graduate opportunities after completing their university studies.
Available Internships
2027 Financial Analyst Intern
This internship introduces candidates to finance and data analysis within Amazon’s operational business. Depending on placement, the intern may work with teams such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance and Controlling, Operations Finance, Transportation Finance or Infrastructure Finance. The role suits students or recent graduates who enjoy analytical work and want to understand how financial information supports business decisions.
2027 Program/Product Manager Intern
The Program/Product Manager internship can provide exposure to core Amazon businesses such as Retail, Operations, Vendor Services, Merchant Services, Prime Video and Advertising. Interns can work on programmes or products that improve customer and operational outcomes while learning how teams plan, execute and measure initiatives.
2027 Account Manager Intern
The Account Manager internship is linked to customer, seller, vendor or advertising-focused business areas. Depending on placement, interns may learn how Amazon works with partners, supports selection and customer experience, manages commercial relationships and develops account performance.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a graduation date in Q1 2027, or be a recent 2026 graduate within the last six months. Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English and available to complete the full-time 12-month programme at 40 hours per week.
What Interns Can Gain
Amazon states that interns receive meaningful project responsibilities rather than only observational tasks. The programmes include networking opportunities with other interns, speaker sessions, intern panels, Leadership Principles activities, writing-skills sessions and mentorship.
The work environment is international and fast paced, so candidates should be comfortable taking ownership and working across teams. Depending on the role, useful strengths include financial analysis, customer focus, project organisation, commercial thinking, problem solving and clear communication.
Application Documents
Amazon requires applicants to provide an updated CV and documentation needed to verify the right to work lawfully in South Africa. This can include a South African identity document, or the relevant passport and work permit where applicable.
