- Perform all pharmaceutical duties under the direct personal supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances
- Unpack, merchandise stock, and maintain the cleanliness of dispensary and OTC shelves
- Assist with the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicines according to approved formulas and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Learn to accurately interpret scripts and act professionally within the legal framework of the Pharmacy Council
- Ensure precise picking, packing, labelling, and checking of medication while remaining aware of common dosages and drug interactions
- Ensure all prepared medications are physically checked and signed off for accuracy by a pharmacist
- Assist in stock control, including managing shelf organization and checking medicine expiry dates for Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines
- Follow up with patients regarding script tracking reports and appointments as directed by management
- Handle call centre scripts and assist with customer service telephone inquiries
- Provide relevant information to individuals in order to promote public health
- Assist with medical scheme authorization for chronic, oncology, HIV, and AIDS medication
- Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, and stock errors to the dispensary manager
- Receive incoming dispensary stock in strict accordance with official company guidelines
