Eskom, South Africa’s national electricity utility and one of the largest power companies in Africa, is looking for 20 Graduate in Training (GIT) candidates to join their Corporate and Supply Chain Management division.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young graduates who studied anything related to logistics, supply chain, transport, or commerce. You will be placed inside Eskom’s Corporate Procurement business unit, where you will learn how one of Africa’s biggest organisations buys goods and services — from everyday office supplies to large-scale industrial equipment.
No prior work experience is needed. Eskom will provide all the training you need to grow into a professional procurement specialist. This is your chance to get your foot in the door at a major South African institution and build a career in supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate in Training at Eskom, your main duties will include:
- Executing integrated sourcing and procurement processes by following the correct procedures to fulfil procurement needs
- Purchasing goods and services on behalf of the organisation and managing all related procurement administration
- Performing dual adjudication of tenders and managing contracts and purchase orders within set policies and standards
- Consulting with your supervisor to identify and manage problems or risks, and making recommendations timeously
- Negotiating and coordinating agreements with suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met
- Building and maintaining healthy working relationships within your team and across departments
- Independently accessing and analysing procurement information to support decision-making
Qualifications
National Diploma or National N Diploma in any of the following fields:
- Transport Management
- Commerce
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- or a closely related field
Must be at NQF Level 6 with 240 credits
Education
A minimum of a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 (240 credits) in Transport, Commerce, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is required. Graduates who have completed their qualification and are ready to enter the working world are encouraged to apply.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required
- All necessary training and foundational knowledge will be developed during the Graduate in Training programme
- This programme is specifically designed for graduates who are new to the working world
