Description

Unilever, one of the world’s largest and most recognised consumer goods companies the brand behind household names like Dove, Knorr, Sunlight, Omo, and many more is offering a hands-on Automated Packaging Learnership at their Anderbolt Factory in Boksburg.

This learnership is perfect for young South Africans who are interested in how products get made, packaged, and prepared for delivery to stores across the country. You will be trained to operate automated packaging equipment in a real factory environment while learning about quality control, health and safety, mechanical maintenance, and production line coordination.

This is not a desk job it is a practical, on-the-floor learning experience where you will develop technical skills that are in high demand in the manufacturing and supply chain industry. If you have Matric with Maths and Science, or an engineering qualification, and you are ready to work hard and grow Unilever wants to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

As a learner on this programme, your daily duties will include:

  • Performing general line operations and cleaning activities in line with the operational plan for the day
  • Conducting pre-start-up checks to confirm that all equipment and the work area are clean, safe, and ready for production following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitoring product and packaging quality against set standards, and promptly reporting any faults or defects
  • Detecting process abnormalities on the production line and taking immediate corrective action to prevent the problem from getting worse
  • Cleaning machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and factory specifications
  • Preparing and checking raw materials before they are used in the production process
  • Maintaining personal and team safety at all times on the production line
  • Actively contributing to an eco-efficient and sustainable work environment
  • Meeting all learnership requirements including completing assessments, keeping your logbook up to date, and submitting assignments on time

Qualifications

To be eligible for this learnership, you must have one of the following:

  • Option 1: A National Senior Certificate (Matric) with a pass in both Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Option 2: An N2, N3, or N4 Engineering qualification from a recognised TVET College

Important: You must attach your academic results or certificates to your application. Applications submitted without qualifications or academic results will be disqualified.


Education

A Matric Certificate with Maths and Science is the minimum requirement. Alternatively, an N2 to N4 Engineering qualification is also accepted. This learnership is ideal for candidates who performed well in technical and science-related subjects at school or TVET college.


Experience

  • No prior work experience is required
  • This is an entry-level learnership Unilever will provide all necessary training
  • You will develop hands-on skills throughout the programme in a real production environment
