Pepkor Lifestyle the group behind some of South Africa’s most loved retail brands including HiFi Corporation, Incredible Connection, Bradlows, Sleepmasters, Russells, and Rochester is giving young South Africans an incredible opportunity to enter the working world through their Wholesale & Retail SETA Funded Learnership Programme.
This 12-month, fully funded learnership is open to candidates across all 9 provinces, meaning you can apply no matter which part of South Africa you live in. The programme is built to help Matric holders develop real, practical retail skills while working inside some of the country’s top stores.
If you have your Matric, you are eager to work, and you enjoy being around people this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. No previous work experience is needed. Pepkor Lifestyle will train you from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Over the 12 months in-store, you will be trained and gain experience in the following areas:
- Customer Service – Assist and guide customers on the shop floor to ensure they have a great experience
- Marketing & Merchandising – Help set up, maintain, and update product displays to attract customers
- English Language Fundamentals – Develop professional workplace communication skills
- Mathematics Fundamentals – Build the numeric and calculation skills needed in a retail environment
- Point of Sale (POS) Processing – Record sales transactions and process customer payments correctly
- Retail & Wholesale Knowledge – Learn how the wholesale and retail industry operates from the inside
- New Account Opening – Assist customers with opening new store accounts
- Stock Loss Control – Help monitor, maintain, and reduce stock losses in the store
Qualifications & Eligibility
To be considered for this learnership, you must meet all of the following:
- Must have a Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12)
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have no criminal record
- Candidates with and without disabilities are welcome to apply
- Must be available and committed for the full 12-month programme
Education
The minimum education requirement is a Grade 12 / Matric Certificate. You do not need a college diploma or university degree. This learnership is specifically created for young South Africans who have completed school and are ready to take their first step into the workplace.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required
- This is a fully entry-level opportunity
- All training, skills, and knowledge will be provided during the 12-month programme

Make sure all certified copies are not older than 3 months from the date of application:
- Updated CV
- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Certified copy of your Matric Certificate or highest qualification
- Academic transcripts or tertiary results (if applicable)
- If you have a disability a certified Doctor’s certificate confirming the disability
Step 2 – Submit Before the Deadline
Send your complete set of documents before 16 May 2026. Candidates who submit all required documents early will receive first consideration.
